It's been a while since I wrote or posted any pictures. We have been pretty busy around here and it seems that Fall is finally here. I love the fall and everything about it. The leaves changing colors (although it is more challenging to see that here in New Mexico), hot chocolate, warm apple cider, visits to the pumpkin patch, wearing sweaters and jeans, and just about everything else!
I got a great treat this morning - Steve came home after his morning Bible study with an ice coffee for me and donuts for the kids. He is so good to us! I have my moms group this morning and still need to dry my hair, but I wanted to share a link real quick, I will try and post some pictures later today!
This link is to the sermons from the pastor of our church. He is an amazing speaker and really has a way of preaching God's word and keeping it real. I missed two weeks ago because I was just getting back from Dallas, so I finally had a chance to listen to the message yesterday and I found it so moving. It's called "The 411: Why is the World so Messed Up?" It's about why God allows bad things to happen, and why bad things happen to good people. I think that at some time we all have this question, especially after good people we know (friends, family) have bad things happen to them. We go through things like losing a close friend or relative, losing a job, or a serious illness, and we ask "How can a loving God allow this to happen?" I think that Todd answered it perfectly, so I invite you to listen in. You can also get his messages from iTunes.
I also encourage you to listen to his other sermons when you get a chance. The Desperate Households series is great for help with love, dating, marriage, and kids. The Hero series is a 4 or 5 week long series on Jesus, the Lost series deals with questions like "How do I know God's will for my Life" and "What Should I Live my Life for?". The Liar, Liar series examines some of the lies we tell ourselves like "My Best is Never Good Enough" and "I Can't Change". His sermons are entertaining, but we leave nearly every week feeling like we have a lot to work on.
Alright, gotta run. Thanks for reading :)
